The cheap fuck way of painting it is the best way to do it. If you want to go to and have it redone just expect to have it sag again and again unless you never use your sunroofs and never open your windows. Just paint the dam thing it looks better!

Yea it may sag again after what 10 years? And paint looks better than real upholstery? Get real... I agree its more durable and if you use the right paint, not bed liner, its easier to clean... It's a matter of preference.

Listen, I posted this if your headliner is hitting your head and you just want to make it look good without dropping the whole thing.... 2 plastic clips and my headliner is fine now, if its gets worse a few years down the line I'll drop it and recover it myself, but why waste time now, I have better ways to spend a day like fishing and actually driving my truck.

It's not a matter of preference. That's bullshit. It's a matter of fucking your truck up or not.

Painting, rhinolining, stapling, tacking, taping....that's how hacks do it. This is something I'd expect from a high school student, not from someone who enjoys their Rover.

I did notice a serious drop in performance, most power going uphill and loss in MPG, since the installation of painted headliner. Seriously this will fuck up your truck!

Geesh man, you know they make those push-pin things in tan/beige, right?
Tan would at least match. The Black you used stands out like a bloody turd in a bowl of milk. :ack:

Yea I know, auto zone didnt carry the tan ones and like I said in my op, dont give a shit.

Painting something that should have never happened is not fucking your truck up. Its a Land Rover Disco not the Queen Mary! There are a lot of well thought out details on the Discovery and there were a lot of Items just thrown together and the headliner is one of them.

IT IS A BRITISH VEHICLE IT WILL ALWAYS REQUIRE STAPLING TACKING AND TAPING!:smilelol:

You do realize that this was designed from a parts bin.....

If you don't give a shit, why worry about the headliner at all? Is it rubbing your head? Blocking your vision? Scaring the kids?

Have you used this company? I need to recover mine this summer and this will probably be the way I go.
They have a very good reputation, but $$$. I think about $450 to recover your headliner, you can buy a DIY kit for about $150. A can of paint is what, $20?

Damn, for a second I thought this was the old D-web.

If someone is out using their rig who cares? Why get your knickers in a twist over what 4 guys do...to say it's wrong or fucking your truck up is funny. Some folks would think pulling a stock bumper off and cutting the endcaps up is sacrilege, some would think a nice war wound from a day or two on the trail a complete horror. Folks are different.

There is a right way to do something, and a wrong way. Adding an ARB bumper to a truck rather than a TJM is personal preference. Removing the stock bumper and installing a pressure treated 2x6 is what cheapfucks and hacks do.

It's no different with the headliner. It's cheap to fix correctly. Fixing the headliner correctly cost less than 2-tanks of gasoline. Anyone who does not fix their headliner correctly is either a cheapfuck or a hack.
