Central Locking

OK here's my situation... my power door locks have not worked on my 92 RRC since I bought it. I took the driver's door panel off today to see if there was anything obvious, and there wasn't. None of the connections or linkage appears to be disconnected or in a bind. So, when I hit the remote button the alarm sets or turns off properly and I hear two different clicks. I'm assuming central locking module/ecu on drivers side and alarm ecu under passenger dash. When I move the drivers lock up or down I hear nothing but when I move the passenger lock up or down, I do hear the same click under the driver's side. Of course, none of the other locks do anything when this is going on. So my question is, if the drivers actuator (or any actuator for that matter) is bad, would it cause none of the central locking to work or am I looking at a bad control module. Or any other suggestions on what to look at or test... Thanks guys!

Well, on mine, the kid who owned it before me installed new speakers, and he forgot to plug the thing back in... but that was just on mine...

On yours, it sounds like if the alarm seems to work, it is probably just the drivers door lock actuator itself. Sometimes it can be the ECU, but if the alarm is working, probably not, I'm just guessing though.

This is a common problem. It happened to me on my DI.

That's sort of what I'm hoping. The generic door lock actuators are less than $10 so I may just get one and give it a shot. If it doesn't work, I guess it was only $10.

I'm assuming factory alarm here...
I think RAve or the LR manual has a troubleshooting guide for the central lock system. If you pull a door panel off, you can test the actuators with 12v leads to see if they all work. I have a set of test leads made from an old cell phone charger, a 1a fuse and 10ft of zip wire. If the physical actuator works, I'm putting money on the central lock module.

Where is the central lock module located? are you speaking of the alarm ECU?
Thanks

There's a lock related module under the console cubby box.
