Just bought my daughter a new (used) '01 325xi that needs a clutch. While I have always done all the maint. on my 99D2, medical issues have forced me to farm out the "heavy lifting" jobs.
I have been trying to get the "book" hours for a xi clutch job. I see 3.5-4 hrs for a RWD, but not the AWD, which I assume will be a little more due to the transfer case.
And yes, I have posted already on one of the larger Bimmer forums, but they have been remarkably unresponsive.
- Thanks

It should take 5.0 - 6.5 hrs, based on 2005 job descriptions. The t-case removal and replacement is around 45 minutes each way if that helps you get a better idea.

Great. That's exactly what I was looking for. Now that I'm farming out some of the more "laborious" jobs, I like to go in with some info for backup. I'm new to the area after 20 years and don't have any first hand knowledge of the shops in this area. This way, when some grease monkey quotes me 10 hour of labor, I can laugh in his face and walk out the door.
