Bodyshop recommendation (NoVA)

Got my Ram that was parked at the house backed into by the neighbor. Minor damage - all cosmetic to the front left corner (just a few scuffs of paint missing). Question I have is whether anyone can recommend any good bodyshops in NoVA, preferably close to Alexandria (OT) area. Got a quote from one I have been to before for insurance claim work and it was north of $600; seems a bit steep.

Not a whole lot of "good" shops in NOVA - most body shops will replace a panel or piece before they'll "fix". It's muuuuuuuuuuch cheaper for them and much faster as well. (Faster for you too!) If it's insured save yourself the trouble of shopping around for an "old school" body shop and just go with what you got.

Tracking. The neighbor is covering the cost of repairs but when its really a scratch vs. a dent, hard to justify/imagine replacing the whole bumper. Hence the question. The quote above as well as another quote I got for a bit of a rust spot from this particular shop seems pretty high to me.

Most shops will just replace the part. Somewhere like Maaco might just put some filler in and repaint, might be cheaper but also consider the quality of the work.

These guys didn't recommend replacing any of the part - front bumper; just quoted me what I thought was a high repair estimate. Plus new parts would still have to be color matched, and since the 'old' ones aren't really damaged, beyond cosmetic repair, replacing them with a new part doesn't really change things.

I understand that. did they give you a brake down of what they were going to do to repair it? If it isn't damage other than a scratch why don't you buy a touch up kit and repair it yourself? would only be about $100 total.

They did; need to look over it for specific details. Not something I'd be able to fix with a DIY kit since there are a handful of scuffs/scratches that go all the way through the paint. They basically said they'd have to take the bumper off and repaint it.
