Boat Roof Loader

On a recent trip to Australia, I saw these (see links below) semi-automatic rooftop boat loaders. Does anyone know why these are not in the US? Is there a highway transportation regulation? If they are here, where can I find one? Thanks

as cheap and accesible as trailers are in the US, theres just no market. theres few places you can go that you cant get to with a trailer in tow. chevy silverado's are alot more popular over here than land cruisers and the like, whereas downunder there a dime a dozen. its pretty cool though, just no market for them here. no one's saying you cant order one from them though.

With two people you can lift that size boat up pretty easily. If your solo I guess you could slide it up the back if your rack was made for it.

You used to see them a lot on old men's pickups with camper shells at the lake. Popular with people who have camp trailers, but still wanted to go fishing too.
