Blinking CEL

Today while on my way to lunch, my CEL started blinking at me for about 2 minutes then stopped blinking and just stayed on. I've heard of the blinking CEL being real bad. So, I went to my friendly Autozone and pulled a single code of 1314 with a generic ignition missfire. Truck is running fine. CEL is still on as I didn't get it cleared 'cause I'm heading to my local shop later this week anyway and we'll hook it up to Autologic.

Anything I should worry about like melting my cats or anything.

Thanks!

The p1314 code is a little too generic in these disco 1s. the truck is running a little rough, though not missing. I'm kinda leaning toward MAF or o2 sensors. I'll see how much worse it gets. I did take it over to a buddy's shop and hooked up to Autologic and gave some garble about Bank B blah blah... basically no help.

My 97 Disco is doing the same thing. When it is blinking it is detecting a misfire right then.
I'm going with either injector or O2 sensors. I read about a dirty MAF causing a misfire also but I'm scared to clean mine.

p1314 is misfire likely to cause catalyst damage bank b (pass side). i would go with what chris said and look for an injector problem!

when i had my p1313 (same code drivers side) it was the only code i could get. the ce light would flash like you say. the truck ran quite rough and it turned out to be no power to injector 5 due to a break in the wiring.

how does your truck run?

I get this code every 250-500 miles, truck runs like a top.....I clear the code with my Innova 3100 code reader and carry on with life........:)
