I've got a Timex IronMan had since 1993, and a Nike Lance 4 not sure they make them any more its big got like 6 alarms compas, therometer, and atltimiter( can't spell) it list for about 250 3 or 4 years ago. I've only seen a hand full of them 1 on Lance the other on Ms Crow and mine. Worst comes to worst you can wack someone up side the head and knock them out, and it lights up blue.

They are more in the $100-$150 range, but I have always loved my G-shock. I got one about 7-8 years ago and it has been awesome. I have only had to replace the battery once. I use it when I go scuba diving and has held up great. I would look into one of the Atomic Solar, or Tough Solars. I was going to get one of the Atomic Solars because it is nice not to have to replace the battery in them (it is kind of pricey if you want to get it pressure tested; not something JC Penny jewelry dept can do), but I ended up getting something different, but still have my old G-shock that gets a lot of abuse.

I refuse to pay more than $50 for a watch right now. I havent had one for the past year and only bought one now because i am deploying.

I beat the shit out of them, G-shock's last about 4 months before i kill them.

Not sure what defines an "outdoor watch", but the most durable watch I've ever seen was my Casio I paid about $10 or $12 for on sale. http://www.casio.com/products/Timepiece/Classic/W59-1V/
It survived being in a tool box that caught on fire (got hot enough to melt the band) and being thrown off the top of the Wolf Trap Farm Park pavillion when it was being built in '83 or '84. 4 months later it was still within 5 seconds of the USNO clock.

Damn Gunny!! You are too hard on your stuff. We were taught to treat your gear with more respect than your girlfriend. Because the gear will always be on your side. :) And we weren't going to get any new shit, with out buying our own. Semper Gumby!

My first G-shock lasted 8 years, 2 deployments, and 1 CAX...

I am happy with the Highgear Aerial Altimeter watch. I have a few friends that do a ton of outdoor activities in Alaska that use it.
You can get an excellent deal on it here right now. **Insert super salesman voice here.** "Only $79.99, 44% off.!!!!!!!!"

No really, it is a good deal and a good watch.

I usually take my watch off when I'm heading to the real "outdoors".

I'm going there to get away from appointments and hope to try to make it home on the right day.

I also don't wear a watch when driving Series trucks. What's the purpose of worrying about the time when you're driving a Series. You'll get there, don't worry about when!
