Here's some of the pics and the text from the ad. This deserves to live through the ages as an example of how to white-trash a perfectly good truck.....

Text from the Coumbia, SC craigslist ad:

Up for sale is my custom 98 Land Rover Discovery with a 4.0 v8. Its had all its services and has a new parts list a page long. No weird issues, runs perfect. COLD A/C. See below for specs and upgrades...

-cold a/c, hot heat
-all power windows work
-Sunroofs have been converted to manual hinge opening and DO NOT LEAK! Probably the only discovery in town that doesn't have leaking sunroofs. Also, I've found its great to hunt out of the back as opening them doesn't make any noise now.
-Custom camo paintjob with original beluga black paintjob.
-Custom jumpseat and toolbox in rear
-New water pump, drivebelt, spark plugs, plug wires, air filter, and all fluids changed out within the last month. READY TO GO!
-Air bags in back have been converted to spring and shock.
-Custom flow master exhaust. SOUNDS AWESOME!
-Manual idle control inside cab. NO MORE TAKING TO DEALERSHIP FOR COMPUTER PROGRAMMING after battery replacement. This modification is priceless.
-Custom keyless ignition.
-180,000 miles
-Defender style front swivelball axle. (SUPER STRONG) Later model discos didn't have this.
-4 brand new all terrain tires
-New brake master cylinder and rear pads.
-cd player stereo (the right front speaker is out but the other three work fine)
-No check engine light, abs light or anything like that on dash.
Shes a beast no matter how you put it. Not perfect in every way cosmetically but pretty close. It really is an experience driving it. It turns heads wherever it goes. As far as the bad...the front windshield has a crack on the bottom right corner, drivers seat has the usual wear and tear (have cushion cover for it, see pics) but thats really it. It really is in great shape for the year. Come check it out if your interested. These earlier versions with the defender style front axle are so rare in the states its not even funny. $3000 obo. NO LOWBALLERS, NO CHECKS, I DON'T NEED HELP SELLING. Had a lot of interest so far but I will not finance it. The first one with a good cash offer will be getting one hell of a truck for the money so just call or text for more info or test drive if thats you.

Them fuckin' deer'll come a runnin' when they hear that sweet motor purrin' like Bambi's momma's back in town, then BAM! You bust the fuck up outta that roof hatch all Iraqi Freedom like and mow em down quick, so's you can get the fuck outta there before the game warden busts your ass.

Sells itself, really.

Favorite line of the ad...

"It turns heads wherever it goes."

And that custom jumpseat, damn, who else could possibly have one of those?

That reminds me of an old poster that I saw in a run-down restaurant in the sticks. A grizzled looking old duck hunter was standing with his haul for the morning and the caption, "I got these sunsabitches about 9 o'clock this morning." The next pic has him cuffed between two game wardens and the caption, "We got this sonuvabitch about 10 o'clock this morning."

I kinda like the seat switch modification. If I get another D1 with hanging switches, Ill probably do that.

What are these rare swivel ball axles he is talking about? Didnt all D1s have them?

He forgot to mention conversion of front to 4 lug nut option.

Did not realize d1 had airbags.
