Being screwed around by Northwest Parts, Inc... BEWARE!

I'm so upset right now.

Yesterday, I made an online order for their Voyager Roof Rack (just like Safety Devices)... the roof rack was listed at $739.00. I recieved an order confirmation via email... order placed... done deal...

Well, today, after sleeping on it, I emailed them to see if I could add a shovel mount to my order and they said...

"Thank you for your email. Your order has not been processed as we've been going through changes. Please see the pricing changes on our website, and resubmit your order with your changes, as requested below.
Thank you,
CS"

So, naturally, I jumped on their site, only to find that they have DOUBLED their prices and now I have to resubmit an order I placed yesterday... they are wanting $1399.00 for the SAME thing I ordered yesterday on THEIR site for $739.

Can they legally do this??? It seems illegal... unreal to me...

I would consider yourself lucky. From what I have been reading about them lately, you are better off getting a rack elsewhere.

Do a quick search on here for Northwest Parts. Search "Northwest Parts" and also "NWP".

A lot of people are having problems with their scheduling, order fulfilling and quality of work.

I would suggest calling NWP directly and if you aren't *immediately* satisfied, call your credit card company / bank and have them stop the order.

Good luck.

I have to say that is total crap. If they advertised a price and would not honor it. I would not give them my business at the new price, and just because I'd report them to the BBB. Too bad this wasn;t don via mail or it would be mail fraud!

Save your original confirmation from them. It's a legally binding document.

You bought it at that price, they agreed by sending you that confirmation.

You've got them screwed.

Really? 1300? wtf...its not even close to a Safety Devices rack...

Just sit on your money, live without a rack, and shop for the real ones...they are out there...

Absolutely...every price has doubled. 199 for their roof rack ladder? WHAAAT?!? 799 for a HALF rack??!?!

I sent them a message...

Guys... thanks for the input. It's unreal a company would treat a customer like that. It's only simple business logic to shut the site down and block all orders when you change the price.

HIGHLY unethical and yes, I agree... the fact the sent an invoice alone should make this illegal...

I own a business and I can't imagine telling a customer after make a transaction for my displayed price and invoicing them that they will have to reorder cause, now, after they order I decide to up my prices... unreal.

I told them if they do not honor their price as they listed... due to the fact that they sent a reciept and invoice, I will contact the Better Business Bureau and they will hear from an attorney.

Hate to do this but I did nothing but buy what they advertised...

If anything, hopefully it will make them thank twice about treating others this way.

For everyone else out there that has "heard" we're dishonest, consider the source before passing judgement on a fellow Land Rover enthusiast that has busted his ass trying to make people happy.

Nice post by Andy from NWP. If he honors the pricing, then that's cool and "misunderstanding" is definately the right word. From what I've seen of their products (before the move) there were better then some, not as good as others. Overall, a good product.

I for one appreciate his coming on here and addressing the issue.

Yes for sure. But really though, doubling EVERY price?

I guess thats the cost of business...but that does not mean it doesnt absolutely suck.

Their products used to be the cheaper but good enough ones, now they are competing with the premier products...hopefully they are making stuff that warrants that.

Never thought the company was dishonest, either.

Dishonesty flows through my company? Yeah right. Just as much as Land Rover builds a bicycle! You people need to get your facts straight.

I guess your company is pretty dishonest...Land Rover Bikes There is a brochure available on that page that shows their entire line.
