Wow, I learn something new everyday, I guess you never know what you will get with a RRC.

Found this:

http://www.fourfold.org/LR_FAQ/RR/FAQ.RR.RangeRoverC_US.html#1992

92 Range Rover Models:
County:
Priced at $5,600 above the base model, The County came with the three spoke alloy wheels, ABS anti-lock brakes, front and rear anti-sway bays (base Range Rovers did not have sway bars and ABS in '92) nicer carpet, special leather front seats, auto dim rear view mirror, Burlwood (vs. American Walnut) wood trim. The Premium Feature Group included: Heated front seats, Remote keyless-entry security system, 120 watt a/d/s integrated audio system with a subwoofer and six-disk CD changer. Beluga Black was only available on the County for $300 extra

I believe it does come down to the ABS vs Non ABS issue. The shafts are a different length.

yep; this is also shown in the RR's shop manual.

by the way - the link Alan provided is a very good reference on Classic RRs.

keep in mind Land Rover was very impressed with itself on having off-road capable ABS first introduced here in 1990 and this was really seen in the GD Expedition video when they were coming down Red Cone.

'91 was an odd year for the RR as there were 4 models offered including the Hunter which was the "low" cost version for the year and only year it was offered. No ABS.

The '92 base model combined some of the Hunter aspects to keep the cost down - no ABS as an example - as the Hunter was dropped, yet, it had the leather interior, etc. used in the past base RRs.

I've seen stickers placed on RRs that were not that model in the past. The best one was a GDE sticker on a green RR - GDEs only came in white and had a unique interior which this one did not have as well. So, it wouldn't surprise me that the po might have put on a Country sticker.

yea, my first thought was it may be stickered in the past by someone who wanted a different label, but it looks REALLY old like the other parts of the truck. oh well, maybe I will put some type R and some turbo stickers on it to really confuse things. :D

Damn that Adams!! After all he does work in a sign shop!

I'm doing this upgrade now on my 1989 with parts from a 1994 front axle. I have a complete donor axle. I have removed the third member and complete axles w/ CVs installed (axles on both sides). What other bits to I need from the 1994 donor axle to have all the correct parts to finish the conversion?

Why not just swap the complete assy?

I have a cmplete front and rear assy from a '94 that I could deliver to the Spring Rally next weekend. I would want your old assy as I will need them for the Toy conversion no guts just the housing If anybody else wants a quick fix.
