Eat some good food. Two of my favorite places are

If you're there for a number of days the Biltmore House is really neat to see.

Downtown area is pretty neat lots of little shops and good restaurants.
Steer clear of the smelly hippies. tour the biltmore grounds. Buy your tickets in advance to save $$$. Pack your glock and any attachments.
Make sure you don't type in Asheboro by accident. It's a shithole. You're welcome.

Burial (my favorite - small, cool dudes)

Ben's Tune Up (indoor/outdoor) laid back, lots of good beers on draft.
Skybar is kinda cool.

Very true. Jokes aside, the NC Zoo has won over the San Diego Zoo for a number of years now.
Here's another one you can have.
EDIT: Ben's Tune Up is a cool place. Hit that up for sure. Close to lots of other breweries. I didn't really see too much hippie action. They don't bother me too much as they are the ones that started the whole micro brewery scene in Asheville anyhow.

I don't want to unleash the complete image. It's just too much for you to handle. Trust me. I don't need your wife and her friends texting me. She brought a spare tire to bed last time this happened. It got weird......fast.
1) Wedge Brewing and White Duck Tacos in the River Arts District are an absolute must!
2) Sunny Point over in West Asheville is one of the best breakfast eateries on the east coast.
Bens Tune Up is a good time, always gives me a headache.

I bet you're standing on a Snow Peak foot stool in that pic...am I right?

Take a close look at that decal on the blue D1. Try not to stare too much.
If I remember correctly, the end cap kept move all over - likely slightly more stable than a Snow Peak stool.
