Actually Jim, the pictures you have posted are the Yellow-Billed Hornbill. The bird that you are thinking of is actually called the Gray Loerie.

I hunted in Namibia 2 years ago & thought that the next trip I should take the family while we can. The kids are 16 14 7 & I fear if we wait any longer they won't want to go.
Not climbing anything! 14 days with Kerr & Downy! The nice thing is I know the guys running the operation & when in the states I let them my 110.
I am thinking of bringing night vision to watch animals hunt?? What do you think??

im realy not sure about kenya
but i do no RSA and Zambia
No camo clothing (although i wore it in the bush) and was harassed by Military police in Kafue Natl Park.we came across poachers hiding in the bush with AK-47 and Snares.
My guide happened to know one individual as a Tracker that once worked for him.
5.00 each and they were on there way no trouble.30 mins later the military patrol came along tracking them and i was harassed for wearing camo and being a posible combatant.
and nothing that can be for military use.
i would not bring something extrodinarily expenseive.

I was referring to the two pics I have now attached. I don't know why the links didn't work before. And for whatever reason, I am unable to embed images in my message.

Nice James! Holy moley...never realized how big a giraffe is until I saw it's head next to you!

Cool Gemsbok photo! I was stalking a group of warthog when all of a sudden a gemsbok stands up between us and them 10 yards away! Talk about a take your breath away moment! Its funny how they will lay down completly on their side.

I don't go for turkey, I see them all the time around here so its not as exciting. Also scares me a bit with all the close scattergunning. Maybe again someday.
