I replaced the driver?s door actuator in my 00 DII last night. It fixed the problem with the locks not working with the remote. But now the lock won?t work with the key.

When you twist the key it just spins around like it's not connected to anything. I noticed that there is a piece on the top of the actuator that looks like a phillips screw (the white part) was I suppose to line this up with some part of the lock mechanism on the back of the handle for the key to operate the lock?

Some tips and things I found that aren?t on the Rave CD that might be helpful when changing a DII drivers door lock/actuator.

Take the 15-20 min to just remove the mirror/glass. Others on here said they got the actuator in with out removing these. But I wasted a lot more time trying to get it out with the rail in the way then just removing these parts.

In order to remove the two bolts holding the glass to the window regulator the window must be almost rolled almost all the way down. Do this first before you take out the 4 bolts holding the glass rail. Also there are 5 bolts holding the glass and frame in, not 4 like on the rave cd. The 5th is just below where the mirror bolts on.

On the drivers side actuator there is also a little screw on the top in addition to the 3 bolts that hold the actuator to the door (not pictured on the rave cd.) Also when fitting the new actuator you must connect the rod from the door lock cylinder to the hole on the top of the actuator that looks like a Philips head screw. Or the key will just spin in the lock.

I hope this info helps.
