Sounds like a hoax to get the religious right all riled up about the ACLU. In a day when civil liberties are under attack, groups like the ACLU are more important than ever.

Haha, "The Truth About The American Civil Liberties Union". Are we really still worried about commies?? Better refocus, the threat is alQaida and terrorists, BTW.

yeah, what's up with the commie link from the 60's?????!?!?!?

and the other thing, the crosses in the cemetary are representitive of each fallen soldier, who was christian in some manor, there are star of davids and such in there also. the ACLU is talking about general displays of crosses.

but still, what is up with the commie thing?

that link comes from here, http://www.uhuh.com/index.htm, not a very centered or valid source

If the ACLU defends the bill of rights, where are they on that 2nd one?

I think the question there would be, "where is the legitimate attack on the second amendment?" Isn't the fight over the definition of the term "arms?"

once again, 5 seconds of research turns up that indeed, the flapping jaws of the right would rather spread b.s. against the left instead of searching for the truth.

i used to get emails like that all the time. when i started pointing out how wrong they were i was taken off the bulk list, but i know they still forward them around. no sense letting the facts get in the way of a good witch hunt...

Thanks Michael.

I have so many of those emails from friends and colleagues and have proven so many of them wrong that they not only have stopped emailing me, many have actually started to read into the BS emails that they get without just taking them for granted.

Here is another one that at first sounds very convincing. Typically spread by convervative people that do not research before they open their mouth.

I got the email forwarded to be verbatim just like the one collected from the internet. Do some more research on the The University of Edinborough site and you will find even more information disproving some of the references, but people read it and assume it is true.

Its amazing that people just believe this shit.

UtahDog,

Thats what they would have you believe except the are constantly redefining the "bad guns". First it was the "Saturday Night Special", then the "Assault Weapons", the the "sniper rifles" (which would include ALL hunting rifles with a scope), then the .50 Caliber was the next threat to national security. Oh wait ,remember it was pistol magazines that held over 10 rounds that were causing crime and needed to go. It's all just a divide and conquer strategy, each step being sold as "reasonable" until there is nothing left to take.

The fight is also the attempt to redefine the terms "the people" and "militia". They come at it from all sides because they fear people that don't want to be sheep of the state. They think the English are doing it right.

Well if we are then it'll be the only thing the English have done right in ages.

Remember guys guns don't kill people, people who think having a gun makes you a man kill people.

Actually, the ACLU's stand on the second ammendment is that "the people" doesn't mean individuals. Though for some reason they agree that every other ammendment that uses "the people" does mean individuals as well. Makes no sense to me, but there you have it. I too agree we need them. If they would come out in support of the second ammendment, I'd happily carry a membership card.

I agree with you. I also think the reason those are all still available is that the threat to them is fractured and disjointed. Gets a lot of press to be sure, but not a lot of traction. The arms argument is too cyclical to be categorized as true 'gun control'. I'm not worried about the second amendment. It will be there for a while. ;)

which reminds me...I pick up my new Sig Sauer Mosquito tomorrow! No more 100 dolla days at the range! WOOHOO!

It's good to know who the founding members of the ACLU are and their affiliations. Right? Gives you a good perspective on where they are coming from.

If you think Communism is dead you should familiarize yourself with the "Progressive" wing of the Democrat party. Just ask Pelosi.

Some agendas take centuries. Ask the Islamo-Fascist.

Makes a lot of sense in the context of the agenda. It really is simple. People just don't pay attention and let it happen oh so slowly.
