There's nothing on the front end where a bumper goes that should have anything to do with the SRS system.

Actually, on my '95 Disco there are two sensors mounted to the top of the frame rails right behind the crush cans. When enough crush occurs these sensors trip the air bag system. as I recall, they are green and look like relay boxes. If your new custom bumper removed the crush cans, these could have gotten disconnected resulting in a fault code.

I'll take a look at my 95 when I get home- I thought the inertial sensors were farther back...
I did a custom bumper and didn't have any issues.

As I recall, they are next to or slightly in front of the radiator and resting on or touching the crush cans.

OK I have checked and the SRS relays are mounted on the frame rails; but they are not disconnected...........Do I need to disconnect them? How do I check/adjust the seatbelt pre tensioners? My friend here has a '99 D1 and he did not have this issue when he installed a new custom front bumper; there are no relays on the '99 at least not in the same place. Thanks

The yellow sheathed seatbelt pretensioner wire comes out from under the seatbelt buckle housing to a female connector attached via zip-tie to the mid-way point of the underside of the seat cushion. The mating male connector has black/white and purple/white wires, one of which had pulled free of the connector. Being over 6' tall I slide my seat as far back as it will go and the way the pretensioner wire is strapped doesn't provide enough slack for this seat position. I clipped a few of the zip-ties to add some slack and replaced the free wire back in the connector. No more SRS light.

:D :D

In not so many words... give some slack to the wiring under your seat and make sure your connections are snug! ;)
