91RRC - Where are the electric seat fuses?

91 Range Rover Classic. Passenger (right) side electric seats failed today. Went hunting for the fuses. The Haynes manual doesn't say and the owners manual says under the left hand seat. Pulled those panels, found one bank of relays and a 5, 5, and 20 W fuse there that did not control the seats. According to the manual it should be 4 fuses in a 6 fuse box and the manual says "remove the cover." I did not see anything resembling a fuse box, not to mention a cover.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

hi will - i think all the main fuses are located just to the right of the radio. there is a fuse panel there with some instructions about how to shift the transfercase. remove it gently. there's a fuse guide right there OR just start replacing the blown ones.

in my experience - its always been the switch. pull the switch knobbies off with a flat screw driver. itll look like tiny little straws. spray some wd40 down there and work the switches back and forth rapidly. that usually helps revive old dirty switches.

good luck!

Thanks. I'll try to the cleaner idea. I see from several sources that this might be the problem.

The main fuse panel does not contain the seat fuses. According to the manual, its under the seat some where.

Thank you!

Just tried the cleaner and it did work. And the seat is working again.

I had taken the covers off the switches earlier, but I had been doubtful that I could do any thing that would easily clean them as under the cover and gasket, its clearly complicated down there....

I did, by the way, find the missing fuses. There is a black plastic plasting housing that runs on the floor panel parallel to the rear seat frame. It is about 5" x 1" x 1". I had missed it because ran under a bunch of bundled cables and I thought (in the dark) that it was part of the seat frame.

Thanks again. Every time someone helps me on this site I shoot a few bucks to the discoweb.org in thanks.

Usually the seat's in the down most position, making it even harder, but if you pull the carpet flap back, you can see them with a flashlight.
