ive got a gems short block if you wanna bosch it up.... not "good" though. was my motor. early stage of rod bearing death. ideal for a rebuild.... just sayin....

Okay thanks, I guess that's not out of the realm of possibilities as I've essentially got two "everything Bosch" engines sitting here. One of them, I'm into the top-end now on an "unknown" overheat failure, should know more soon...I'm still wavering on what to do if it's just head gasket(s). But I do know the engine was heated and the coolant is gone.

If you want to rebuilt it as a 4.6 I have cranks, rods and pistons

Mike, If the block was hot enough that all the coolant is gone and you weren't present when it happened to know the details, I would be afraid to use that block. Its probably a ticking bomb waiting to drop a liner. Too much work to build an engine not knowing how long the block will last.

Yeah, that's where I'm headed. I actually got it semi-running, it's bad and there's coolant in the exhaust. I'm pulling the whole thing tomorrow...
