This lingering project hasn't advanced in too long.

4.6 long block with v belt front cover
Block is from a P38. PO set it up for his RRC with a crower cam. He got some water through the intake, shut it down, evacuated water from #8 cylinder and drove it several hours afterwards, then pulled it for a cummins swap. Motor is purported to have @110k on it total, 5K with cam. When I got it the compression showed the following:
8--160
6--182
4--192
2--190
7--190
5--185
3--180
1--180

I stripped the heads (finding a slightly loose head bolt between 8 and 6) and found no obvious damage to pistons/rods etc. I had the heads rebuilt (they were filthy), had the intake bead blasted, took an inch off the intake trumpets and installed a new water pump. The liners all appear good with no sign of slipping. The engine is currently disassembled, which seems like a good time to sell it so that the next owner can see the liners, etc.

This includes the distributor, alternator, remote ignition module and all brackets and an OBD1 Computer that has been reflashed for the 4.6. Only thing than needs to be done before assembly is to install the included cruciform seals. Also includes a complete top end gasket kit.

Will drop in to a 94-95 defender, RRC or D1 and will make the loud pedal a lot more exciting. Throw a carb on it and make your ROW V8 seriously fun.

Located in Arlington, VA. Pickup is highly recommended. $2750 or reasonable offer.

Happy to answer questions, will post pictures.

It appears perfect, has full range of motion, all confirmed by a rover tech. I believe that compression was down due to the loose head bolt.
