Ok ive read all the searches.
ive owned the truck for 24 hrs and i dont like low profile tires.
the hurricanes i can deal with for a while.
bf goodrich all terain ta is the only decent 18 i can find.
ive had and liked them before .
its a 285/65/qr18

any one upgrade tires on there hurricanes and do i need to lift it for these.

im trying to control my instincts to mod the truck and not mess with it for at least 100 miles.
i feel like im sitting on the ground in it and looking up at the jeeps and chevys yet the ground clearance seems to still be tall .
i need to get use to it but its freakin me out also.

any advise is greatly appreciated.

jim
ps i searched hurricane and got alot of info
what i need to know is will the bfg at fit the 18 and the disco without a lift
tks

Cooper Discoverer ST or SST has 275 65 18
They are 32" and they do rub just a little at full lock or stuff.

Without lift you will rub just a little.
And a 04 you need to change the to longer
bump stops $10-$20 from the dealer. So you
want rub the radius arms.

I wanted bigger rubber on the 18" rims as well. Search my post on the 265/60/18 Yokahamas I put on. They are 30.5 inch vs. the stock 29 inch so they definitely look bigger and ride bigger but do not rub at all. No lift. No changing the stops. They are not an AT tread but if you check out the reviews on tirerack.com you will see that they are great all around suv/light truck tires that do well in pretty much any conditions.
Goodyear has their new Wrangler Silent Armor with an awesome AT tread that is coming out in the 265/60/18 size in a few weeks. Discount Tire checked with them and they start manufacturing that size around 5/15/06. I do like the Yokahamas so far after about 800 miles. Great steering, braking, wet traction, dry traction, and believe it or not my gas mileage has actually gone up about 10% on the highway and a bit in the city. Good luck with it-

man I would wait to buy the tires until you lift it. If you lift it after you buy tires, you know you will just want some bigger tires.

but the yokohamas and the nittos are they only decent offroad tires I have seen that will fit on there without a lift.
