Ive never ran into to this problem and would like to know if anyone has experienced this before I start digging into it. Truck has 116k miles no mods.(yet) Previous owner replaced the abs pump(pumps up and shuts off quickly) , no noises when braking, stops great with normal pressure. Did a good visual with wheels off and did not see any problems. Sometimes I will have to apply harder than normal pressure on brakes when making my first stop and then its like something is hanging up and then I power though it and it stops fine. It can be a little unnerving if youre not expecting it.It doesn't pull to one side like a caliper piston sticking. It is just hard at first and then kinda pops right thru it as you continue adding pressure. Mostly occurs when first starting out but not always.Would appreciate any help from anyone who has seen this issue.. Thanks.

I would think a linkage from the pedal or the master cylinder itself causing the stickyness.
