Cardboard panel below glove box

The cardboard (for lack of a better term) panel piece that hides the wiring and relays below my glove box has a tear in the spot where it mounts. Has anyone devised a solution for this? It seems to be a common issue since all of the D1's at the boneyard have had worse looking panels than my current one.

I was thinking of utilizing a strap similar to the below to keep it from sagging. It'd be better to reinforce that torn spot, but I can't figure out a good solution.

Any solutions or suggestions are appreciated.

I just made a panel out of thin checkerplate and screwed it in place instead. As often as I was having to remove it for issues, it made it easy enough to take on and off.
