Hello all, I am planning on putting a CB in my truck soon and already have an external speaker (saw in radio shack for $2 couldn't pass it up) but I'm not sure where to put this thing. I searched and didn't find anything for just the speakers, saw a few pics of peoples cb's and you see there is a speaker. I'm looking for ideas as to where to put it, so let's see some pics of where you guys have put them, if you have them? Thanks and have a great weekend!

i thought of that as well, but I'm worried either my wife or daughter might kick it, plus was also thinking maybe something a little hidden, a little more discreet you know

Unless its an external speaker(meaning so you can hear the CB when you're out of the truck) I don't really see the point. The two cheap CB's I've owned have had adequate internal speakers for inside the cab.

I have my PA mounted beside the air box intake. Inbetween the radiator and and intake horn. But then again that is a D1, I'm sure the D2 engine bay is slightly different. Mine took a little finessing but I was able to get it in there nice and tight-like.

I've filled my speaker nearly overflowing with mud then dumped it out and reinstall and works like a champ, still. I'm looking into a small amplifier to get a little more clarity and sound out of the speaker.

I just recommend covering it in panty hose to keep mud out, seems to being working well for me.

It is for inside the cab and I plan on using it for 2 things...1 the cb radio (may not need it I don't know yet but like I said it was 2 bucks so why not) and 2 to hook up to the garmin nav I have, the speaker on that is crappy and if I have music on I can barely hear it. So it's rock out to tunes and get lost or boring drive but get there.

Just snapped a quick cell phone picture of mine. Of course i don't have an interior though so a little different.

Hanging off the roof in front of the co-dawg seat. External speakers are amazing... so much more clear and louder than a built-in CB speaker.

How big is your external speaker? They make them in different sizes.

No pic handy, but I have one (since the internal speaker died in my CB) which is a little Uniden ESP5 which fits perfectly on the far left side of the top of the dash between the left side of the gauge cluster and the A-pillar.

It blends in pretty nice there, isn't in the way of any legs, arms, etc. and allows me to hear the CB outside the vehicle when the window is down.

Here's a shot of my Uniden I mentioned before. The little CB and mic are visible on the side of the console.

the one I have ia a bit bigger than that so it won't fit there, but that is a pretty cool spot, definitely audible lol
