OK whats up guys, I've been searching for quite a bit now and can't find the answer I'm looking for. I have a 2001 disco2. I want to put in a new head unit with ipod and sirius and all the goodies but i also want to keep my steering wheel controls ( yes I know I'm lazy I can just reach for the radio but screw that i want it :banghead: . Here is my dilemma, crutchfield is telling me that unless I have the H/K system in the truck already I can not use the PAC SWIX or the AXXESS A SWC adapters to keep the steering wheel controls. I se a bunch of people have put these into their trucks and found a lot of threads about how horrible the instructions are but no one mentions if they have the Harman Kardon system. Is crutchfield right? Do I really need to have the H/K? Or will it work if just hooked up properly? Or is there some sore of wiring mod i can do? Any insight will be helpful. I know the whole aftermarket headunit thing has been beaten to death but please help me out here?

I had the base model s visteon 1 disc cd player in mine. My aftermarket alpine cda-9883 works fine with the pac swi-jack i've been using for 3 years. FWIW, the instructions on the PAC website are better.
