    ABS codes won’t clear

What code are you clearing out? If its a hard fault you might have to fix it first.

On Cold Starts, it pauses for half a second then starts

I think it sounds like your starter is getting less than battery voltage because of excessive resistance in the circuit. The circuit includes the starter motor and the battery. But don't test the battery by spending 200 bucks to see if it fixes anything.

On Cold Starts, it pauses for half a second then starts

Test the battery. Replace it if it fails. Auto zone should be able to test it for you if you carry just the battery,

    Anybody fix ZF transmissions ?

Who would you take a ZF trans to get it repaired? Rover just got replacement units for us. I have always heard some people fix them but I've never found anyone who I believed when He told me he could do it.

On Cold Starts, it pauses for half a second then starts

Oh, I get it now. I thought you meant you turn the key and there was a slight pause before it started cranking. Cause thats a thing, but it's 20 seconds. Sounds like battery voltage or a bad connection. Sometimes somethings killing the battery slowly overnight. And a perfectly good battery can...

On Cold Starts, it pauses for half a second then starts

Sorry, I just don’t understand what you’re worried about that for. My explanation for less than 1 second delay in cranking is the security system processing that data. When it becomes a problem is when the security software gets really confused and you have to hold the key in crank position for...

On Cold Starts, it pauses for half a second then starts

A half a second? What the fuck are you talking about? It doesn't crank for .5 of one second? How did you measure that?

Crazy Timing Chain Failure / still learning after 43 years

Not sure I mentioned that I’m looking at a 4.0 V6 in an ‘06 LR3. Customer states the car quit running while driving at highway speed. Engine bucked and surged, picked up power then shut down. I was not aware the Ford Ranger V6 engine was prone to catastrophic timing chain failure. What is...

    How bad is the 5.0?

Timing chains suffer from the long service intervals. It's the most effected part of the engine they say. 16,000 mile oil change interval is just a selling point. It's not based on fact.

    How bad is the 5.0?

I looked at one of them. I see it's a long list of vehicles that need engines I assume. Keep in mind that for some reason a lot of Land Rover guys out there are scared of this thing. So I'm guessing a good portion of those could be repaired. and less than half are really junk. Those engines...

    4.0 V6.

4 chains. One runs the balance shaft.

    4.0 V6.

I was told recently that the V6 LR3s are bringing more money than the 4.4 V8 models. You guys think that’s true? I would be surprised if that was the case

    4.0 V6.

Yep. It’s hurt, did a cylinder leak down test.

    4.0 V6.

    Well that kinda sucks.

    4.0 V6.

I opened this thing up. Front chain failed. I’m getting conflicting info on this thing being a free spin engine or not. It’s a Ford Ranger engine. Anybody know about that thing? I’m finding info that says there are 2 variants of this thing. One being an interference engine, the other is not...

Should I buy this Range Rover?

I think if you get it for under a grand it might be fun for a little while. But I’m sure it will have some catastrophic failure before too long. Then you have a parts truck.

    Bigger tires on an LR3.

Maybe it's because I took that plastic shield out of it. The tire sits perfectly, drags on front and rear but barely. And then I just tried to stab the reciever in since you mentioned it being a no go. But it clicked right in.

I just put the receiver in this one. It went in fine.
