Ahh I see what you mean now. I should get a little more flex out of the stock springs vs the RTE 2". Even if it's the same it will be a happy tradeoff for a better ride quality.

I’ve ordered some new stock springs and spacers. The 2” RTE springs are just way too stiff. I like the shocks and they are re-buildable so we shall see. I’ll report back my results once I get them installed this weekend.

Wheels and tires arrived. 265/70R17 Mickey Thompson Baja Boss AT. Not sure if the tires helped or maybe the springs have relaxed a bit but the ride seems a bit better now. I will hold off on the spring change until I get it off road more.

Well after a few weeks of riding on the RTE coils they are just too stiff. Think I’m going back with new OEM coils and 2” spacers. Anyone else run that combo and like it?

It's splitting hairs to be honest but their site says "83.22 with mirrors folded in". Tahoe is quoted "81 without mirrors".

Yea it’s crazy but there are people buying 85k Ineos. Chomping at the bit for a 65k Tacoma. And dealers charging 85k for a Land Cruiser. Seems people just don’t care anymore.

Out of curiosity I looked it up. The Tahoe is 2” narrower than the GX550. As for lifter failures, it seems that if they fail it’s usually under the warranty period. I don’t hear of many failing after significant miles.

You can get the 6.2 as well which would be my choice. But yes it’s pricey and 20” wheels on an off road truck is nuts. I’d actually get the GMC AT4 version as I think it’s better looking inside and out.

They are really worth nothing with a bad engine other than parts. Would be much cheaper to find one still in good shape and preemptively change the timing kit. I’ve heard the replacement parts make it a reliable engine.
