Any of you have a particular way of carrying a rifle or shotgun in your Disco beyond sliding in the rear floorboard in a case or in the cargo area?

Just interested in some new ideas.

Thanks,

I decided I didn't need my long gun anymore when I got this :p

Seriously, I just carry them in the cargo area.

Yeah, since it is an auto trans I only need one hand to drive so I hold it in my right hand with the barrel across my chest pointed out the window. How else would you do it? ;)

Thanks a lot, smartass! ;)

I usually just keep mine in a case and sit them on the rear jump seats (D90wgn) when not in a case in the back I let "them" rest between the console and the passenger seat.
Sometimes across my chest and out the window

Man it's tough getting your balls busted for a pretty legitimate question. ;) Most long gun cases won't lie across the cargo space of a Disco, it's too narrow. My answer is to pile a bunch of crap in there until it's full to the top of the side storage boxes then put the cases on top of everything. A huge igloo marine cooler really eats up the space well. Of course my method leaves the cases readily visible for thieves so it has its drawbacks.

I don't mind the ribbing, spydrjon is a buddy of mine, anyway.

With my '98 2 door Tahoe, the rear cargo area was long enough to allow me to slip the rifle case in muzzle forward (chamber empty, of course  ) in between the tent, gear boxes and whatnot. This allowed easy access when the rear door was opened and also hid the case from prying eyes.

Naturally, the DII cargo area is too short for that, hence the request for input.

Most AK variants and short-barreled pump shotguns will fit under the rear seat. Wrap a towel around the weapon to prevent scratches.

I just saw a "just married" truck that had that written in shoe polish across the front windshield.

#*$&%^ rednecks!

A handy thing about most redneck marriages is that one family gets rid of two children.

Gun Rack

There are available in the UK gun racks which mount on the cargo/dog guards.

Here is one...
