Hunting

Very frustrated here and very envious of all your successful exploits. I would dearly love to get back into deer and moose hunting. However - the firearms laws being what they are here in Canada make it very difficult AND expensive to get back into the sport.
So - I thought I would pick up a bow, no licensing needed here, get some practice over the summer and be ready for the fall hunt. Now my wife steps in and says - NFW!! You are not starting that up again.
P***ed me off. If a friend graciously gives me a piece of venison my wife and daughter will gladly pertake in the dinner. I just want to get out do some hunting and harvest some of my own food.
I have not given up yet but it will be a longer process than I was hoping for - getting back out into the woods.
BTW - another thread talked about boar hunting. In the m id 80's I was in Zimbabwe and one of the shooting club members invited us out to hunt pigs on his property. We did only hand guns, 9mm, 38 super, 44 mag and 45. Now the pigs did not get above 100-150lbs so the handguns we used were more than adequate. Hunted from the back of pick up. Hand a GREAT time.
