RARE - 1995 D1 LHD Manual Transmission For Sale
Asking $5400 OBO

It is with a very heavy heart that I post this. This truck has served me very well. Despite its many issues, it has reliably taken me over the mountains and through the woods, over the rocks, through the mud, snow, sand dunes, around town and overland. It's been mostly an FL and CA truck. The last few years it’s been exposed to NY winters (not a lot of driving in snow/salt situations but parked outside) so rust has started but it isn’t that bad.

I got it with ~150K miles. It now has about ~170K. I can’t state this enough: this truck is SO FUN TO DRIVE. A manual transmission through tricky is so much more satisfying.

Some of you may know this truck. It’s been well loved and well driven. Like the PO who sold it to me, I want to get this truck into the hands of someone who will appreciate it, love it in fact, and keep it on the trails.

First, the issues:
  • Things you’ll likely need to spend money on
    • Most likely you’ll want to new tires, shocks, springs (they are decent shape but would need to be upgrade for heavy trailing)
    • Likely need a new clutch soon
    • Rockers could use powder coating
  • Things to accept
    • Lots of body dings and light scratches (TY California manzanita)
      • Front driver quarter panel banged up affecting the light housing and passenger rear bumper light missing
    • All window motors work but at different speeds
    • Locks are not fully functioning. I always leave it unlocked - SRS light stays on - key fob works ish
    • Driver door handle bit wonky
    • Sun visors don’t stay up (currently held up by small carabiners)
    • Missing kickplate on driver footwell
    • Crack in the center dash console
    • There is an unidentified low-level energy leak/draw. I have installed an isolator that helps avoid a drained battery.
  • Things you can easily work on in the driveway/on weekends
    • Driver side view mirror mechanism needs some TLC
    • Cargo door plate light assembly cracked but I have a replacement
    • Left rear light housing needs soldering
    • Electric issues for aux equipment - roof rack front lights, rear work light
    • Rear windshield wiper doesn’t work
    • Rear middle brake light housing is secured by screws *and tape
    • No working radio
    • Rear single seat needs a bolt at hinge
    • Interior lights are wonky
    • Two cup holders need to be reinstalled
    • Cover plate (center console) for window controls is loose

IMO none of what’s listed above are deal breakers but, yes, there are a lot of issues.

Now, the positives
  • Did I mention how fun this truck is to drive?
  • Original engine and holds idle at 750 and runs great through all gears.
  • New interstate battery (less than 3 months old)
  • New fluids replaced a month ago - engine oil + oil filter, transmission, transfer case, coolant, brake fluid, diff oil)
