I always enjoy seeing this picture pop up in Ackerman discussions about rovers. The theoretical Ackerman is dependent on wheelbase and track width yet Land Rover apparently ignored this by using the same front axle in 7 or 8 completely different wheelbases from 90" to 130" yet the all drive down...
With the wheels centered and straight the distance between the front drag link arms is the same as they are at full lock right or left. The only change I measured was at half lock right or left was 1/4" shorter between the two points, almost neglegable during turning.
Land Rover made the DII somewhat universal by only having to move the steering box and the axle has the correct knuckle for either LH and RH aplications.
Any chance I have the wrong bracket? The one I have is clocked with the caliper high and causes clearance issues with the floor pan. The bracket that they show in the manual for the RRC/DI is not the one I have.
