Yes. Sorry I missed that, both are box code 747 which is late D1 and both would of had the long splined FTC5090 coupling shaft when they were built

all D2's have the longer splines on the coupling shaft, the fact that the new tranny had the short splines would suggest it's out of a D1 or range rover in which case will not work in a D2,

why are you anti air ?
we have no problems with the air on our lockers as they don't leak, mainly as the design does not rely on a rotating air seal,

300 tdi disco bellhousings are the same as the 300 tdi defender bellhousings,
if you are pulling a V8 out and putting a 300 tdi in you will have to change the pinion shaft and bellhousing for the 300 ones,

there are quite alot of differences, these differences depend if you are comparing it to the old RD56 or the newer RD128,
differences to the RD56 :
no rotating air seal, our piston does not spin so doesn't leak air
steel cage not plastic
EN24T body, not cast iron (which fail)...

yes there are 3 bellhousing to suit these engines but in the 2.8 kit you get an adapter plate to fit to the back of the block, modified V8 bellhousing and the parts to fit to the crank shaft,
you can spec 2 kits to fit the medium diameter D1/D2 converter or to fit with the bigger 4.6 converter...
