    D1 Safari rack on a D2?

Hello, Can anybody please advise if a D1 rack will fit a D2. It is currently on my 98 D1, but I have a line on an 01 D2 and am wondering if it will fit. I understand the length will be shorter, but all other things being equal I would like to keep it if possible. Thanks Jimmy

    Timing cover

Just had the same problem, thought it was front cover, but after changing out the water pump, I located a hole in the upper rad hose that had not been visible. Won't hurt to take it off and look. James 98 D1 LSE

    Turn key, no start!!

So I can confirm that the clicking is coming from the alarm ecu. The battery is new, the battery terminals are clean!! Is there a way of resetting the ecu, because it does seem like the car is immobilized?

    Turn key, no start!!

I can't be sure, but it is a definite possibility.....I thought maybe the immobilizer was tripped, but I locked and unlocked it with the fob in an attempt to reset it but nothing changed! The battery is off again right now otherwise I would check and confirm.

    Turn key, no start!!

Hi, My D1 has been sat for 6 months without a battery. Previous to this the truck was sat and started 1st time with a new battery. I went to work on her the other day, put the battery back on and all I got on the key turn was a succession of clicking (electrical) in the passenger foot well...

Got to get her back on the road!!

Hello all, I have a 98 D1 LSE, she has been sitting for 9 months or so, as I was planning on working on her and straightening out a few issues. She ran well, no engine issues etc... I realise now, that letting her sit was not the best thing and that I should have worked on her while still...

    No Life

Hi, Unfortunately I have had to have the Disco off the road for the last 12 months. I didn't do anything in preparation and now I have the time to take a look at her. Obviously the battery was dead, I tried to charge it but there was no chance. After a fresh battery, I had all the regular...

Does this sounds like code P0340

My code was also the camshaft, but the problem was actually the crankshaft sensor, apparently it is common that it is misdiagnosed!! James 98 D1 LSE

Does this sounds like code P0340

The camshaft sensor is accessed through the front of the engine, it is best described as a plastic column approx one inch long. The crankshaft sensor (my problem) is behind the drivers side exhaust manifold, under a thick square shaped heat shield. It was a PITA to get off, one of the sensor...

Does this sounds like code P0340

I had a similar problem with my truck and I suddenly lost power and the engine went into "limp mode" and would not go above 2000 rpm. The OBD indicated the camshaft sensor. I changed the sensor for a new (used) one and nothing changed.<O:p</O:p <O:p</O:p Eventually I happened upon some...

P0340- Camshaft Sensor Circut Fault or...

I had a very similar problem, in the end it was ruptured wire insulation at the crankshaft sensor. This effected the sensor, threw the codes and eventually had to be replaced. The heat from the exhaust manifold seemed to be the culprit. I re-insulated the wires, replaced the sensor and all...

    Stutter when warm?????

The codes indicated cam shaft sensor. Through some of my reading others have found that if the cam sensor goes, the engine will still start, if the crank sensor goes it will not? I am not sure if this is true. I was however wondering if these symptoms could be caused buy O2 sensors?

Hey Guys, I am at a bit of a loss! Recently while driving I suddenly felt a drop in the engine (like only 4 cylinders were left). I limped the car home and pulled the codes. The scanner indicated Cam Position Sensor. I changed the sensor and also dealt with the intake leak. Since going back...

    coolant leak; how long?

Hi, Although I have a 98 D1, I have had the same symptoms and let it go. Initially the leak was approximately 1 cup every 3-4 months. I had the system pressure tested and the leak was so minor it was difficult (almost impossible) to locate. I left the leak and it gradually got worse. Now 2...
