Hi; You don't mention your working conditions, ideally a hoist and a transmission jack would make this a fairly easy task....
If you have to (like i do) lay on your back under the vehicle in the great outdoors it will be difficult but not impossible to remove the transmission....

Kennith, No need to be belligerent here, where i got it from is by observation and examination. If you care to backtrack in the posts here a bit, you will read that another poster has a plastic bodied jack.......

My Disco I has a multi function unit this is a white box plugged into the back of the main fuse panel, it controls a number of things like chimes and interior lights...
I recently had to replace it (plug and play) Is there a chance your Disco II has this unit ?
