Re: Strange Break noise
Get some anti-seize from a local auto parts store. Its real cheap. Also, visually inspect the part of your pads that make contact with the rotor. I had a similar situation on a suburban that I had years ago...turned out to be a rock caught between the pad and rotor.
I have Torque Pro and it is well worth the $5 for the app. It is very customizable to your needs and has multiple screens/readouts you can design to your liking. I use it to mostly to give me real-time data on water temp, voltage and speed, as well as reading/clearing codes.
The OBD2 adapter...
I have more of a hum in mine after I went with an aftermarket deck and bypassed the amp. You can only notice it when it initially comes on and as you switch radio stations. Mine is due to the not having a solid ground which is on my list of things to fix.
Hi, this is my first post so I’m not that familiar with how it works but here goes. I have a 1995 Discovery 1, V8 (Jap import) that has developed some fuelling issues. The engine will start and idle, however, when any load goes on i.e. I put it in drive (its automatic) it stops and wont restart...
Since you have only started one other thread on this forum, with no response, and you got the same response on other forums, I'd say check the source before you go blaming other people for your inadequacies. Also, learn how to spell check your work...
The first place I would start is what codes were present that had the CEL on and start from there. As far as it not wanting to crank, I would check for a lose battery cable. I might be totally off the mark, but it's a starting point.
I had that happen to mine a while back. I had to have the ECU reset because the voltage to the throttle position sensor was low. Mine still does it from time to time because the multifunction fuel pump relay is going out and needs to be replaced...on my list of things to do.
I watched these just the other day and they helped clarify everything for me. Just make a mark where the pinion and TC mate up, on the outer ring, and match the marks up when putting them back together. You might need to have your driveshaft balanced if you cant get rid of the vibe.
Thanks for posting that link...it is an awesome resource. Not only do they provide the visual aspect that you cant get from the RAVE manual, but they also have nice little tricks throughout the video to help you with some common issues that you will run into along the way.
