Hello,
I have my old spare tire with zero miles on it. It was purchased in 06, but has spent it's entire life wrapped in my tire cover.
It is on an LE wheel.
Thanks for looking.
I was happy enough to get the registration/tags for it. In the end, it only cost a little money and was pretty painless. You're right, the old hag behind the counter could have tried to work with me a little bit.
When I registered mine in VA, they would not give me a title since I didn't have one to give them. I tried explaining that the UK doesn't have titles only the V5 registration document.
I just waited a year and petitioned the state for a replacement title.
You could also source a military front outrigger that will net you 2" on the spring mounts. With military length shackles it would sit level, and your pinion angle would not change.
Mine has 235's on it. I did try to fit a 33x12.50 on there one time. I decided otherwise due to it's low power...

We had a good time. Arrived in the evening just before the rain turned into snow.

I actually bought mine 109 off ebay.co.uk when I was living in England. (It was a '73)
Importing went very smooth through delivery and customs. I had a bit of trouble registering it in VA, where they wouldn't give me a title until two years later when I filled out an affidavit. (something...
I have a never been mounted black A bar (with light tabs) from Simmonites/Allmakes Perfect for adding lights and you don't want a wraparound brush guard.
Asking $85+ shipping (San Diego)
I guess it's more feasible than I first thought.
Anyway, I tried to put a lock washer on with the new nut. There wasn't enough room to press it in there with the bushing and all. Maybe I'll try some threadlock. It doesn't help that the power steering box is leaking over most of that side...
I discovered this today:
The front shock was loose and hitting the top of the axle. I could both hear and feel it when driving on a washboard surface, but on the street it was not as noticeable. The bottom lower nut/bushing/washers were missing. The top lower bushing was inside the spring...
