I'm still on the hunt for an 03 or 04 and doing my research on the various mods and upgrades. I'm a little confused (still) on the whole ACE system. I am a fan of disconnecting the sway bars when I go off road and a tad fear full of not having them on road. I get the whole PIA thing about...
Muskyman, I saw a guy build one of the ones using a standard locking hub and it was very easy to access. Im not a fabricator so I need to buy one. What was the brand you saw?
Cheers
Agreed, manuals are more reliable, and fun to drive. After watching a buddy in his 23’ Bronco just push a button to crawl I’ve a garden that I had to consistently clutch/brake/shift/stall (oops, missed that one) I thought to myself, now where is the fun in that, there’s no challenge!

Awesome, if you ever make it up here give me a shout…Who would you recommend for LR service in the Inland Empire?
I am seriously looking for a pre D3 Disco let me know if you see one (in so cal preferably) that you think is in great shape. I’m willing to go to $20k
Happy New Year!🎆
Thanks S Ed, you’re a brave soul, over 100 and eight currently? Are you a dealer or one that just wants to keep the legend alive? You are a wealth of information! You wouldn’t happen to be in Southern California would you? 😃
How about 02’s ? Theses a super clean one with rover documented top end rebuilt among other mechanical upgrades. 124k miles and it’s a California car (no rust ?) what do you guys think of the 02’s pros cons?
Good to know Terry, thanks
And no, LR, I missed out on that one in Santa Rosa darn it. It was really clean and mechanically had been gone through extensively….well, I’ll keep looking
Awesome info guys, and I totally get the “subjectiveness” in the decision making process. I am one of those guys who is drawn to the old schoolness (don’t that’s really a word) of vehicles, hence the 92’ YJ. You nailed it Stang, the YJ Is a rough ride but with lockers and 35’s she’s like a tank...
I didn’t know about the sun roofs but oh yeah, I can definitely do without that head ache. That’s another check mark in the positive column! And you’re right about the seats. Where there’s a will there’s a way!
