I have a leaking rear pinion seal on my 1991 Range Rover. Can I change this with the differental in the truck? Or do I need to put it on the work bench? Also The heater core is leaking. I have changed one on my 1994 Discovery and swore that I would sell it before I would do that again.:banghead...
I know a couple of guys that have them and like them. I have the FT-8900 and love it. I have had it for 6 months with no problem. I also have a IC-706, but can't beat the price of the Yaesu. Charles
The fan clutch is a reverse thread, so go to the right to get it off. I use big visegrips to clamp on and hit it with a rubber hammer. I put anti-sieze compound on the threads so it is eaiser the next time. Charles
If it is August 16th and 17th I can't make it. I have to move my son to college on the 15th and my daughter on the 16th. :ack: :( I plan on making the Old North State September ride though. Charles
Don't know if this old news, but I did a search and did not see this anywhere. I got an Imperial fan clutch from Advance Auto Parts today for my 91 Range Rover. The part number is 215053. The cost was $65.94. I put it on today and my temp gauge stayed between 180 and 195 for about an hour while...
Auto zone has one for $99.00 so I guess I will get one on order. I wonder how diluted muriatic acid might do in a cooling system? I use it to clean autoclaves that are real funky. As for the battery I got this one for free, so I will make some modifications to accommodate it.:D :D Charles
I pulled the radiator out this morning and found the bottom 3rd clogged up with mud, weeds, a baby antelope and a winch that was left there by the previous owner. Cleaned it up and put it back together. I ran it in the dirveway for 45 minutes and it sat right on 180 to 185. Went for a ride and...
I have 145,000 on the Rover. I have a 1994 Disco also so I am going to change radiators today and see what that does. As for the gauges, there is a ton of room behind the dash of the RRC. No problem mounting gauges there. Charles
I just put in a temp, oil, and voltage guages on my 1991 Classic. For the temp gauge I cut one of the heater hoses and put in a tee and mounted the probe in there. I am finding that the temp will run 190 to 200 while driving and can go up to 220-230 while on the trail. I left the electrical Land...
