    Time to switch v8->200tdi?

    For example, there are holes already drilled in the bulkhead for the fuel filter housing. I don't remember needing to do drilling or anything to mount everything besides welding the main mounts in.

    Time to switch v8->200tdi?

    This swap isn't really that hard, you could do it in a weekend if you have the motor and everything prepped and ready to drop in. I had my 300tdi swap running in an afternoon once the v8 was removed. A lot of the mountings are prepared in the shell so there is minimal fabrication work to do...

    R380 rebuild

    I've done a r380 using that kit, its pretty straight forward, I didn't use any special tools. Buy or download the 300tdi/r380 manual to help you along.

    New Engine Advice

    I really don't get the price the aftermarket charges for rebuild rv8s but this thread confirms that the owners are happy to pay it. My rebuild was fairly straight forward and really not overly challenging even with a bit of a odd ball 95 motor and I think I may have spent around 2500-3000 on my...

    ZF 4HP22 (740) Torque Rating?

    That article says something about early vs late 22's. Email Dave Ashcroft and he will be able to say when the change happened?

    Parting 1995 Discovery

    Not sure if there will be much interest here due to my location, but I'm parting my 1995 Discovery. Has 177,000 km (106k Miles) Stripper truck, no sunroofs, alpine white, tan cloth interior, 5 speed 14cux. Whats gone: Most of the driveline - axles, suspension, transmission and majority of...

    synthetic oil

    LOL 3k changes on synthetic? That's wild, why ever bother with the addition cost? You guys take this way too serious, buy some decent quality oil typically whats on sale and change it regularly keep it topped up between changes. Live you life. LR's are hardly exotic in terms of their oil needs.

    floorboard RUST!!!

    If its just the front floor pans those panels are super simple to make from scratch, I looked at the cost of the YRM gear and it just wasn't worth it. Buy a 4x4 18g sheet for less than 50 dollars and you will be able to make some mistakes and still have lots left. The floor pans aren't that big...

    Bulkhead wiring

    Why aren't you just using the stock location for the filter? or are you big dawg FASS cummins dual filtration set up? I have no idea what you're trying to run through the firewall but why don't you just use the factory loom grommet? Its fairly easy to access.

    1999 Discovery 1 stripper model $1,499 - Houston, TX.

    Remanufactured Engines?

    Doesn't AB sell turner engines or is that just their series stuff? I wouldn't spend 5k one either. How did the 4.6 fail? Why not rebuild the 4.6 yourself? A nice L322 is pretty sweet though if you can bankroll one.

    CL Harrford

    Its awesome to see all the beaters being brought into the US just as they were in Canada 10 yrs ago and being sold as "nice trucks". That truck being from Perth you can guarantee its done about a million km.

    91 Range Rover SWB

    I agree with the rwhitmo04 said, I'm currently working though floors on my d1, the panels are pretty basic so I wouldn't bother buying patch panels assuming you have access to a welder and a shop... There are also numerous "making panels" tutorials online check out...

    Shit. It finally happened. Head gaskets.

    To pull a engine to put some J-yard beater in sounds absolutely ridiculous. You could have the engine pulled and apart in a little bit more than a afternoon. Your truck would be down for a week or two while you're agonizing over the "delicate job" that is RV8 head gaskets and cam replacement...
