Are the rims the original one? I once had a 99 Range Rover that a previous owner had put 20" rims on from I think a newer model disco or range rover. Anyway they were a larger size than the stock rims and caused severe death wobble at speeds near 50-55mph. This was caused by the owner never...
96 Discovery SD, Altia Silver, 4.0 V8, 93000 miles...When I pulled all plugs this weekend they are all buring the same except #4. This plug is fouled with carbon and has a slight hint of oil....slight. Dry compression is low at 135psi. Wet compression is 170psi. If correct, my piston ring is...
I am getting a P1316 (misfire causing excessive emmisions) and a P0304. The battery is good and I'm getting spark. New coil packs. I'm running champion copper spark plugs and 8mm kingsbourne wires. Compression checks out ok. New fuel injectors, fuel filter, and fuel pump. I have tried +4 spark...
The fuel pump may still come on, but may be weak. Do you get misfire at highway speed? Does it lose power, then regain power when you press the accelerator? Does it have trouble climbing hills? Fuel pump failing symptoms....misfire, delayed acceleration, vehicle won't start, runs...
You will notice a rattling noise underneath your vehicle's hood when you start it. If the chain is loose, you may hear a loud, knocking sound from the engine. It may backfire or misfire.
Also, if the pumps filtering mechanism get clogged with impurities the engine will show signs of rough firing. Injectors need constant pressure. If fuel isn't pumped constantly and smoothly signs of hesitant start and stumbling problem on ignition will be the result.
Are you actually getting misfire codes or does it just feel like misfiring? When you turn the ignition to position 2 can you hear the fuel pump turn on? It will be a quite humming or buzzing sound coming from the rear when your in the cabin of the vehicle. If you don't hear anything when...
I am getting the same codes (1316, 0304). How did you know it was the coil packs? I'm running new kingsborne 8mm wires and champion copper plugs. Also installed all new coil packs. Though they are not genuine. When I unplug the MAF and clear the codes they don't come back. Any thoughts?
I have since gone back to champion coppers for the fatter spark. I have a genuine temp sender (Part#1425) unit on order from Rovahfarm. Anyone cure the P1316 misfire? I've been chasing this misfire for a 1 1/2 years now.
When I did the compression test I think what I got was 140...it was about 8 months ago. What about a partially clogged converter? I am getting spark and everything. I just wonder if the engine ecu is faulty. What would throw off the ignition timing?
The pressure test was for the cooling system. I did a compression test awile back and all the cylinders where uniform. I would like to do another compression test though since its been some time and components have been replaced. Is there an easy way to deal with a stuck valve?
If I hold the brake pedal down...then very gently release it just enough for the truck to move slowly forward...but still holding the brake to control forward motion...the truck gerks forward very softly. Is this due to low fuel pressure?
I have installed all new fuel injectors, fuel pump and filter. I have not checked the pressure, but I have taken off the hose going from plenum to the pressure regulator and there is no fuel leaking from the regulator.
I have changed the plugs 3 different times and two different wires tring to get tid of the misfiring. First had the champion copper, then +4's, then back to champions. The radiator is'nt the issue as it has checked out to be a good radiator. Ii's been flushed twice and flow checked by a...
At this point I'm suspecting the temp gauge sending unit or gauge calibration. I bought the sending unit from advance auto. From what I have read they sending unit needs to be a genuine part so it is "matched" to the original gauge. Otherwise the resistance will be incorrect and the guage...
