My '87 won't start or even sputter. I looked under the hood and the vacuum advance unit was hanging by the hose. Does the arm on the unit keep the internal plate from recoiling enough that it would cause me to have a spark too far off to start the vehicle?
Thank you,
Daniel
I'm working on getting all the seat adjustment motors on my most recent acquisition, a 1987 RR. I found a black one inch square box under the driver's seat with a black button on top that can be pulled out to expose a red post. It looks like a circuit breaker that wold pop up and can be pushed...
My temp gauge in 4.0 '96 Disco jumps and falls on the same place on my drive to work. It's on the freeway after a 1/2 mile stretch of a slight incline. The temp goes up a bit to about 3/4 then back down. If I throw the heater on it drops faster, but what the hell is going on? No water in the oil...
Found this layout for the largest one ever built in the US.

Not sure if this has been addressed, but replace the thermostat so you know it's good to go. It's like $25 (give or take) but it can ruin you on the vehicle for good.
I have a DI and my lever seems to be holding and the fluid smells clean (not like before I did the HG job) also I have no butter in my oil cap...like I did before the HG was done. Will the air stay in the system?
After my HG jog I was good, but I forgot to tighten a hose and I lost some water and now I have the rushing water sound all the time. Will it to that until I purge or will it go away?
That's just about what I found, but it seems that the O rings I got as part of my HG kit from Atlantic British, I think they were for the injectors, seems to have done the trick. It looks to be a tiny bit smaller, but that's side by side and not stretched out on the regulator. I'm guessing that...
After a hard start this morning in my '96 Disco I smelled gas. It seems to be wet and smelling of gas right at the regulator and the rail. I didn't replace it after taking it off a few months ago, BUT no one sells that part. Can I go buy some standard O ring to fix this? Do I also need a spacer...
XKS, or Gold Coast Rovers is a little further from me than BP is, but I do use them sometimes. never had a problem. In fact, they are the only place I could find the rotoflex hardware set without the coupling itself.
I may have screwed that up too, also I had 12 washers in it, not just 6, that may have offset it too much. Don't ask me why I did it, I don't know. Thank you for the info. It's not lifted at all.
