    Rock Catcher?

I have been thinking about this since posting, don't recall seeing anyone with any special guards on any vehicles, except heavy guards for moose, bison and other wildlife. Having said that, I was there in the winter, and flying rocks are less of an issue. Victor

    Rock Catcher?

Much less risk of rocks, but much bigger problems with road conditions and frost bite. Victor

    Rock Catcher?

I'm not sure about where you got the idea that the Dempster is "more like commuting on a freeway with big rigs". I think you need to look at a map. Having driven that highway in February, I can tell you that it is definitely not anything like a freeway, unless there are 500KM between gas...

Is this the future of LandRover

You and me both. That is, if we want a brand new vehicle, but isn't half the fun of owning a LR is that they are relatively cheap used, and they are fun to tinker with? It seems that it's not just LRNA that doesn't want to bring in their best 4x4 products to North America. Toyota seems to...

Is this the future of LandRover

I doubt it will be a very popular opinion, but I like the looks of it, and the vehicles they have been making are decent off road - as long as everything is working. I think they are just trying to stratify their brand to maintain market share. All sucessful vehicle manufacturers must do this...

Anything better than a rover in the snow???

On Saturday we got a fairly decent snow fall here and the roads were deserted. As a result we thought that the malls would be empty and it would be a great time for some xmas shopping. As we plowed through the 20"+ snow banks and drifts my '98 disco (OME ~2" lift and BFG MT) barely stumbled...

    Question regarding A-Frame Brush Bars

Hi, I am not a frequent driver in those parts, but I did do a trip to Tuktoyaktuk a couple of years ago in Mid-February, so I have an idea of what you'll be looking at. Moose, Bison, Deer, Caribou, Bear, et al, will wreck your truck if you're lucky, and kill you if you're not. Your...

Routing coax for roof mount antenna

Dave, That is the same mounting location that I have for my 2m/70cm antenna, and it works great. I hit repeaters at full quieting that others seem amazed I was even able to hit. I would suggest you get one of the NMO caps. They aren't expensive and they protect the mount when the antenna is...

I'm not sure how this makes me feel about LR

I would be willing to bet money that the thought process did not begin with a search to see how LR could assist in disasters and end with a tv commercial. More than likely it started off with the idea for the commercial and ended with a way to asuage their guilt, or mitigate the negative...
