I was happy enough to get the registration/tags for it. In the end, it only cost a little money and was pretty painless. You're right, the old hag behind the counter could have tried to work with me a little bit.

When I registered mine in VA, they would not give me a title since I didn't have one to give them. I tried explaining that the UK doesn't have titles only the V5 registration document. I just waited a year and petitioned the state for a replacement title.
