That's an awesome idea about going to a scuba shop. Considering those are (for scuba at least) dealing with MUCH higher pressures in life or death situations, you know the o-rings are going to be quality. Or at least you would hope if you trust the guys at the shop.
After driving enough race vehicles, I would agree with monland's assumption. The bedding surfaces are not quite matched, so you get uneven pressure. Considering that these are street use brakes, they will eventually mate themselves and you will be fine. No worries.
Try this, turn off the...
Silver: how much did you end up paying?
I'm in the market but the prices seem to be way out of line. My expectation would be 23-25k for a nice hse, and slightly less for an SE in decent config, but I am finding 26k-27k for SEs after trying to negotiate.
Does the stock front driveshaft in a D1 have grease fittings in both u-joints?
If grease only comes out of two of the axises, some people have said to "tap" on the joints to get the grease flowing. Does that mean to tap on the caps (the area under the lock washer)? While trying to push more...
Will, I need a headlight switch. PM me if you have a working one, kinda hard to drive at night when I can only get the interior lights on :D (yes, it is the switch)
A drivers side window regulator would also be awesome.
Thanks,
Scot
I used a rubber strap attached to a metal bar which is used to remove oil filters. Its a pretty common tool, and it works very well even in the tight space.

Last time I asked land rover they sent me an email about the low sulfur requirement, and that they would introduce the diesel here as soon as we had that fiasco under control. (Of course they stated that in multiple paragraphs with lots of niceties.)
Keep your fingers crossed we will be able to...
Is there a water drain somewhere in the rear/back door? Mine seems to be holding water behind the black seal, to the point that if I stick my finger under he bottom left corner I get about 2-3 tbs of water out, even if it hasn't rained in a week or two. It also sprays out a bit of water when I...
Anyone know what the current proper cat is from complete exhaust? I need to replace my right hand cat (passenger side, USA) and figure it would be good to get the right size. The 2505/2505r designations are no longer used on CE.
Will be the first thing I have welded on my own truck! :D (Not...
Certainly makes it a bunch easier, but I think you might be able to do it with the wheels on. Since you haven't done it before I would at least remove the first wheel so you have a frame of reference for the rest.

Well whatever it does, it helps the oil go back into solution rather than sitting on the bottom of my fuel jug doing me no good whatsoever :)
Can't use it during a race (fuel testing) and I won't be using it in my truck any time soon either.
True, but if you have a helper it goes a heck of a lot quicker and I find I remove more air from the system this way. Otherwise when you release the brake pedal it will pull fluid from both the nipple and the reservoir, so the bubbles get rocked back and forth, and possibly not shoved out.
Don't start the truck, not required.
Just get a bleeder kit and start at the point which has the most distance in the lines. I think thats the back left, but either rear wheel will work. Have someone sit in the truck, then attach the bleeder kit to the nipple. My suggestion is to hold the...
'Twas the pump. I was going to just change both since it's all fairly easy, but the filter refuses to come off. What a pain with that stupid position and material choice. Gave up on that end ended up changing only the pump. Bingo, power was back!
Anyone know where I could get a fitting to...
