Thanks. I think I'm going to have the dealer do the work just in case I end up needing extra parts that I didn't plan on. I figure if they have it apart and say a hose is brittle and breaks at least they might have the parts on hand. It might be different if we had a dealer here in town but...

Do you know of a write up on how to replace the supercharger cone?

So I pulled the supercharger belt and started the car and the rattle was gone however there was a ticking sound but maybe that was just the supercharger moving from the intake air moving through it. I found this on eBay...

So it would be better to get a rebuilt one than to try and rebuilt the current nose? I've found rebuild kits online and also found a nose that has already been rebuilt.

Never worked on a supercharger before. Have replaced turbos(Saab), water pumps, etc before. I've owned a Discovery DI,DII and currently a LR3 and RRS now. Thought about just buying a rebuilt nose and installing it instead of trying to rebuild the current one. Will pull the belt first and check...

Okay. Thought it might be the water pump, or hoping it was. Is this a DIY job or a dealer/repair shop job? Also best place to source a supercharger nose?

So my wife's 12' supercharged RRS is making a slight knocking/rattle sound that seems to be coming from the front of the engine. It doesn't have that exhaust leak ticking noise but more of a rattle/knocking sound. I tried searching but didn't find anything pertaining to this.

I have a 07' LR3 HSE with the 4.4L V8 and it has been very reliable. How does the 5.0L V8 compare to it in terms of reliability? Possible going to go look at a 2011 LR4 but not sure if that engine is going to be as reliable as the 4.4L V8. Thoughts?

Update: I purchased a used cluster from eBay. It was a 05'-06' cluster even though mine is a 07'. I purchased the fast lane service from GAP and installed the cluster using my IIDTool without any problems. The only thing is you need to purchase a cluster with lower mileage than your current one...
