    off road trailer

So far, no problems. I had the same reservations, switching from the rock-solid pintle/lunette setup on my old Sankey to the Campa's standard ball. But the trailer has been through a fair amount of stress and abuse so far?including airborne moments, hub failure/detachment at highway speed...

Eric, are you saying you've never had a beer while stopped for lunch on the trail? Or just never in front of a ranger? I've certainly done both. Park Service rangers have much worse to worry about than the offroader who's had a beer or two with his meal, over the course of an hour or two...

    Tent Cot

Camel and Garrett would have to be getting very gymnastic inside the tent cot to actually flip it over. It's wide enough to be very stable. Now maybe if Camel's friend Sierra showed up to help.... The challenge for Camel, Garrett, and Sierra would actually mostly be that center support bar...

With the new domed design, you'd probably be fine in a light/brief rain without the fly. But if you're expecting any real rain, I'd definitely include it.

    Tent Cot

Yep. I bought the oversize tent cot, used it once, and decided it was too small deployed. So I bought the double, used it once, and decided it was too huge folded. (And somehow that line of logic led me to what I use now, a much-huger trailer-top Howling Moon tent....)

    Tent Cot

I started with an oversize tent cot, and later upgraded to the double. (Both are the flat-ceiling models, before the new headroom-enhancing "dome" was introduced.) For me, the 32"-wide oversize is too cozy for two adults. But it depends how much overlap and body-stacking you're up for. The...

    Tool Box Grille: review

That Woodflame is really speaking to me. But then there's the little voice saying "Do not buy more stoves. Do not buy more stoves...." Pat, do you use the Delecto or Gusto model?

    Where have you lived?

Fun tool! I just marked the states/countries where I've at least spent the night. Someone should do the same thing with an exploded Rover parts diagram, set up to mark every component you've replaced. Maybe separate colors for "by choice" vs. "out of necessity." Or maybe not. I'm not quite...

so who decorates the Rover for the Holidays?

This was from a few seasons ago. And, as they say, there's no accounting for taste....

Size-wise, I'd go for as small as will accomodate your gear/tent/whatever. It's nice to match your towing vehicle's track-width too. Weight distribution relative to the axle is important too, and determines your tongue weight. Too much to the rear makes for an unstable ride. Too much forward...

Well mine is a CampaATT, made by Chris Cole in Ohio: http://www.campausa.com. I bought it through Rover Accessories, before Charles moved to Texas, and they have some pricing details on their website: http://roveraccessories.com/trailer1.htm. It works out to be more expensive than most of...

Thanks for the warning! I'll be sure to keep a wary eye out around town for your levitating DII. But bring bolt-cutters; the trailer's innards are secured by a total of 26 padlocks. (That's how it came, actually, and fortunately all keyed alike.)

Those Drifta's look like a fancier version of something I used to use: the "Grubby One" chuck box (http://blueskykitchen.com/Grubby_One.html).
