Thanks for the tips guys the watts linkage has little movement but I will go over it this weekend some more. Could be the rear shocks as there doesn't feel like there is any damping for the first inch or two. So many issues at this mileage (122K). I at least got the headliner out of the way...
122K minor leak resolved with K-Seal (well I think). This is after the engine has overheated twice. Check your thermostat top hose connection!! Mine slipped off the first time. The second time the plastic connection just fell apart, so the stock thermostat housing has a limited life folks...
I found your post on the panhard rod conversion. Probably overkill for us since we use the truck more for towing and utility so the stock articulation is fine. I will test the watts linkage bushings tonight when I get home.
The handling of our '04 D2 is getting noticeably awkward. The rear axle seems to be moving around laterally too much. Time for maintenance.
I would suspect the bushings have had it. Would you guys recommend replacing all of them:

Thank. I changed the u-joints and it was probably the driveshaft vibration (I have since had it rebalanced) that beat up the bearings in the diff or xfer case. No oil leaking from front output shaft of the xfer case however.
I can move the front driveshaft about 1/4 turn before it engages. This is causing rattling at part-throttle. Should I think the front diff or xfer case is the problem? '04 D2 120K miles.
I had the top hose coming out of the thermostat slowly creep up and eventually slip off dumping most of the coolant out. It doesn't fit that well with the other hoses and clamps crowding it.
Then got a small drivers side head gasket leak that was plugged with K-12 - this was about 40K miles ago.
FYI having some luck with Lubegard 60902 automatic transmission fluid protectant (red bottle). Issue seems resolved after a few days of driving. Just one vaguely shuddering shift. I am thinking the valves were getting sticky.
Been using Mobil1 ATF for about 80,000 miles. It works well, except that when cold I occasionally get some squeaks from the belt on right turns, but oddly parking is fine. I assume this is a viscosity issue. I was hoping the Mobil1 might keep the steering box lasting longer.
