[Disclaimer: I've tried searching and digging through the old site, but can't find any threads with live pictures]
I have a 97 D1 and am using the Blue Sea Add A Battery kit to add another starter battery. I see this as step one for adding accessories, winch, etc. but right now it's just...
This might not be a great fix for everyone, but here's what I did.
(1) Cut the cable & housing about halfway along the run from the headlight to the firewall.
(2) Threaded the cut cable out of the grill on the driver's side
(3) Removed the cable, cut housing to just peak out of the grill.
(4)...
Well, my Hayden pissed all it's oil all over the place and nearly overheated. 8 months and 2k miles. I officially retract my earlier recommendation. :censored:
Just piling on, but you want something like this:

I think the distinction between impact/non-impact has to do with the design of the swivel joint. Impacts...
Q. What is the difference between a standard, heavy and severe duty fan clutch?
A. Each fan clutch type is designed to simulate the performance of the original equipment clutch that it replaces. All fan clutches are for specific applications and should be applied only on the application for...
Not the clutch, but the resulting speed of the fan is louder. In the way that a desk fan moving from low, to med or high gets louder. As compared to my worn OE clutch and my brothers D1 with a different clutch, the 2991 is louder. Standing outside the truck while it's idling or from the seat...
I have the 2991 is my D1. It's very loud, but it certainly moves air. If you're sensitive to fan noise, I bet the heavy duty is perfectly capable of doing what it's supposed to do.
After cleaning and reseating didn't work, I put used sensors on the front of my D1 and got some improvement (now the light is sometimes off). Will Tillery has used, known working ones for a reasonable price. Compared to an hour of professional diagnosis, it seemed cost effective to get them out...
I'm 6'4" and agree with all these comments. I find that I'm really looking at the sun visor in my D1. I can find a comfortable position, but it's right on the limit of what I'd consider too small. I'd choose a D2 if I was using it as a daily driver.

Not the southeast, but this popped up on Denver craigslist. It's an LSE with 105k for $2k. Contact's zip code is California, so it might be clean underneath, too. Buy it so I don't!
I just finished my D1 HG project. It was by far the biggest mechanic project I've ever done. This thread was one of the resources I used (also RAVE and the Atlantic British D2 HG video), so I figured I'd add my experience.
#1: use paint to mark the head bolts before doing the 90 degree...
