Will seafoam help exhaust valve sticking?
Disco II, 135K miles.
I have the temporary loss of power described in this web article, and it sounds like I have a sticky exhaust valve (see link below)
Before I embark on a valve job, I am looking for someone to tell me that a Seafoam or other clean up of valve can be done without me having to take the heads off? I am told that Seafoam may not work on the exhaust valve since it gets all burnt up?

Blue's post on seafoam is good. Question still remains: will Seafoam help EXHAUST valve sticking? Maybe water?:banghead:

Others can confirm, but I had good luck cleaning my sticking exhaust valves by pouring a small stream of water into a vacuum line after allowing the truck to warm up. Important that it is a small amount at a time as you don't want to hydrolock, but the water will be turned to vapor and my understanding is it "steam cleans" the exhaust valves. I had one that would stick badly and it fixed it....I think it was discussed on here as well, so you might have luck with some searches.
