I don't know D1s, so....

actually now i know its not the centering ball kit i need. Is the flange on the tom woods/gbr shafts that bolt to the D1 transfer case a custom peice or is there a part number for it.

The DII flange is available separately, I don't remember if that's the same as for the GBR/Tom Woods.

thanks schram. so were on the same page. i attached a picture, i'm looking for a part # or something for the flange i circled in red that bolts up to a D1 tc output flange. Is that the $75 part your talking about, or the TC flange?
and i assume i will need to know if it has to match the part welded to shaft or are the center ball kits pretty universal between brands.

No, I was providing a part number for the flange that bolts onto the output shaft that mates to the driveshaft.
I doubt you'll find a DC joint that will bolt to a DI flange, otherwise, all the cool kids would be doing it. Cool kids don't like adapters.
