Those new Chebbies are a joke, have you actually looked at the IRS setup. I drove a '21 recently and it

The new IRS is incredibly heinous, those lower control arms are like 6" off the ground. The new GM fullsize SUV are okay to drive, they managed to hide the speedo behind the steering wheel. Driver controls dont make sense, it would take some time to learn. The Duramax seems to be a turd and the lifter/engine failures abound in the V8's. New TLC looks promising but i expect it will take time to work out all the issues with the new drivetrain.

A Sequoia with the big 5.7 or 200 series probably among the best SUVs built in recent time. Old GMs pre AFM would go forever with little to no maintenance, interiors would disintegrate but theyll keep on going.
The full size IRS is an upsized version of the midsize, which is an upsized version of something off of their sedan platforms.

It works, but it wasn’t engineered for a truck to do truck things originally.

Which is why I laugh when I see car suspension on a bloated SUV wearing offroad badging, at least Land Rovers are tucked up and out of the way. Honestly trucks these days arent designed to do truck things.. I digress..

We made fun of Kenneth for wanting the new Ridgeline, but apparently that's what the rest of America wants too 😆😔

IMO, it's more SUVs these days aren't designed to do utility things. The best selling trucks in America are still full size body on frame vehicles, and they're quite good at what they do.

So maybe I am last to this party but here it goes. My buddy has a 2023 4Runner and he went away for a long weekend. Upon his return, his 4Runner wouldn’t start well or stay running long enough to move anywhere. Upon closer inspection a mouse or a herd of them had consumed his wiring harness in the engine bay. So when you google it , apparently, it’s a real thing with Toyotas. Wouldn’t that be a real bitch to be out camping/ overlanding . Go to sleep and then be stranded in the middle of nowhere the next morning. That would make me nervous about the whole thing. 😬
