I'm heading to the big island for about a week. Splitting my time roughly 50/50 between Kona and Puna. After doing some homework I've made a list of things I want to do:
This is a pretty full schedule but I'm open to other suggestions in case there is anything really spectacular that I should try to work into the mix. Specifically: any particular waterfalls worth visiting - preferably involving some hiking to get to? Places to eat in Kona? Best way to see either of Mauna Loa/Mauna Kea?
I'm renting an X-Terra so I'll be able to access more remote areas.
- sea kayaking/snorkeling with the dolphins near Capt Cook monument
- night swim with the manta rays
- mountain biking
- exploring southern end by green sand beach
- snorkeling at Honaunau
- volcanoes national park
- checking out some waterfalls
